Diego Armando Maradona is an Argentine retired professional footballer and manager. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time. He was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award.

Maradona was born in Lanús， Buenos Aires Province， on 30 October 1960. He began his career with Argentinos Juniors at the age of 16. He moved to Boca Juniors in 1981， and then to Barcelona in 1982. In 1984， he signed with Napoli in Italy， where he won the Serie A league title twice. He also won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in 1986， and was voted the FIFA Player of the Century in 2000.

Maradona retired from professional football in 1997. After retiring， he became a coach and was in charge of the Argentinian national team. He also worked as a pundit for various television networks. In 2020， he was named head coach of Gimnasia de La Plata.
