1. I am unable to accept a boyfriend who is shorter than me. This is not because of any bodily prejudice against him, although some people might misinterpret it as such. It primarily stems from the cultural norm that men are typically tall and strong, fulfilling the role of providing security for women.
2. While there is no legal requirement for a specific height difference between couples or spouses, the subconscious traditional beliefs often dictate that men should be taller than women. As a result, most people feel uncomfortable seeing a couple where the woman is taller than the man.
3. In traditional beliefs, men are expected to be the pillars of the family, with a robust and towering presence that instills a sense of security and protection. A shorter male partner might give the impression of being more like a child to take care of rather than a reliable companion.
4. The combination of a taller woman with a slightly shorter male partner is somewhat more acceptable. However, if both partners are of average or short stature, it may be particularly hard to tolerate and could evoke associations with relationships between minors.
5. It is not our intention to suggest that men of shorter stature are unworthy of love or marriage. Instead, we objectively note that such a pairing might appear mismatched. Moreover, many men may have issues with self-esteem related to their height, especially if their伴侣 is taller than they are and draws attention to the difference.
6. For myself, I have a slight height advantage at 170 cm. Considering that women might gain weight after childbirth, I might not currently find a significant height difference problematic. However, should I gain weight after marriage, and if my partner is shorter, we could end up looking very mismatched standing next to each other.
