the other 表示“另一个”，比如：Give me the other one not this one. 给我那一个，不是这一个。
the others 表示“其余的”，如：This dictionary is better than the others. 这本字典比别的好。
other 是“其他的”、“另外的”意思，既可以作形容词，也可以作代词，如：other one或other two students。
others 通常用来泛指，意思为“其它的人（物或事等）”，如：This dictionary is better than others。
another 也有“另外的”、“又一”的意思，可作形容词，也可作代词，表示在原有基础上再加一（些），至少有三个。如：another one。
其他形式的other，如the other和the others，分别表示总数为二时的“另外一个”和特指的“其余的全部”。the other常与one搭配使用，the others只能作代词。
any other 后接复数名词表示“一些其他……”；接单数名词时，表示“其他任何一个……”。如：any other book。
one… the other 用于两个事物；some… the others 用于三个以上；some… others，others… others 用于泛指。
在一定范围内，除去一部分人/物，剩余的全部用the others。泛指别的人或物时，用others。如：the others = the rest 剩余的全部。
another作代词时，意思与作形容词时一样，不能加任何冠词，后面也不能加s。
