1. The only word I can still remember vividly from primary school is "ambulance" (救护车). Its clarity is partly due to the fact that the word has a catchy homophone in Chinese, which was humorously pointed out by my English teacher in high school. His explanation was particularly memorable, perhaps because he was quite handsome.
