Nowadays, one of the most serious problems many people talk about centers on accumulating number of college graduates are confronted with the increasing pressure of job hunting.
Into the 21st century, it is not hard for students to recognize that the issue of looking for a job has not been a piece of cake for them. Of every 100 university graduates of the whole country, only approximately 70 have got a job successfully in the last 5 years.
It’s only the part of the picture. Although there is no denying the employment of graduates is an extremely serious problem, the enrollment expansion of colleges is developing increasingly. The total number of university graduates of China in 2001 was 1,140,000. The growth rate of it amounted to 300% in 2005, measured against that of the number in 2001, up to 3,380,000.
According to a statistic conducted by Department of Education, the number of the graduates who fail to hunt a job is on the rise constantly. In 2005, there were approximately 24 percent of graduates who had no jobs, which were 450,000 more than that of the number in 2001. Besides, the growth rate has reached 133 percent in 2005, compared with that of 2001.
The total number of college graduates nationwide is expected to reach 4.13 million in 2006. And what the employment rate and the number of unemployed will be is a question of great concern to us all.
There is no doubt that the enrollment expansion of colleges had exerted a great detriment on both the society and university students themselves. Many reasons should be responsible for this unpleasant situation, for instance, the environment of society.
Anyway, as a university student, all that we can do now is to study hard and exhaust our ability.下载本文
