To dear whom it may concern:
I am pleased to write this reference letter for Mr. CHEN Zubin based on his participation in the summer internship program in South China Environmental Science Research Institute (SCESRI) dating from August 1th to August 31th, 2004.
As the director of the environmental protecting centre in SCESRI, I got to know Mr. CHEN Zubin in the interview selection for the SCESRI Internship Program 2004. Mr. CHEN Zubin is a very modest candidate and his fluent answer to my questions had shown his solid and well-rounded knowledge in Environmental Science. As a result, he was selected as one of the two short-listed interns out of more than 20 applicants to SCESRI.
During the Internship Program in SCESRI, Mr. CHEN’s worked directly under my supervision in certain on-going environmental monitoring items. His main responsibilities included: mensurating ammonia nitrogen, suspended solid, PH, nitrogen dioxide and nitrate radical in polluted water samples; sulfur dioxide , nitrogen dioxide and other routine environmental contaminations in the atmosphere. Moreover, he also had the responsibility to complete testing experiments and referred the environmental monitoring reports to the department chief.
Besides, Mr. CHEN Zubin had also participated in certain practical projects in SCESRI. For example, he was sent to some industrial parks of Shenzhen which is next to Hong Kong for air quality monitoring,in which he was responsible for making on-the-spot air testing and collecting nitrogen dioxide and nitrate radical samples from target factories and specific places within the area.
Mr. CHEN Zubin’s excellent performance during the internship program had left me a positive impression. He is very serious to each and every task assigned to him and is very strict to the small details in any experiments and projects. Mr. CHEN is a fast-learner and self-starter. He can easily adapt to the working environment in our centre. His familiarity to experiment practice had made him quite flexible in selecting appropriate approaches and equipments for any specific tasks. Nevertheless, Mr. CHEN Zubin is more than a capable individual. He is also a highly cooperative team-player who was ale to cooperate with his fellow interns in quite several complicated projects.
The SCESRI Internship Program 2004 was a success and it was our pleasure to have selected Mr. CHEN Zubin to SCESRI. I believe Mr. CHEN is a student with great potential in Environmental Science and is very worth of further education in this filed. I believe you will find Mr. CHEN a good candidate if he were given an opportunity to study in your distinguished university. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me if you need further information from me.
Sincerely yours,
