More and More Foreigners Are Learning Chinese
It is reported that in 2009, more than 40 million foreigners were learning Chinese, while in 2004, the figure was about 25 million. The change indicates that more and more foreigners are becoming interested in the Chinese language and culture.
There are some reasons for this change. For one thing, the past decades have witnessed the great economic achievements in China. China is playing a more important role in international affairs. Therefore, for many foreigners, speaking Chinese may bring more convenience. For another, the world is becoming a global village, which means a good command of Chinese is helpful in cultural exchange.
We can predict that the Chinese language and culture will continue to be popular in the coming years.下载本文
