As we can see in the TV series, someone cries for the loss of their lovers, someone rejoices with a big smile at the time that their friends come, someone gets angry and frown when others humiliate and ignore them, someone thumb up their fingers to praise others for their “good job” .Just like we see in the beginning of the chapter, are their response all come from biology or just from learning or both? This is what my article really discusses.
In our text, we have learned that bodily (physiological) responses, an interpretation in the mind, feelings and an effect on behavior are the four part that the emotional responses contained. For one thing, some emotion have been built into our biology, for the reason that early human rely on them to survive; for another, some emotions have been learned from experiences that involved strong emotional responses.
With regard to lecture, the professor try to explain us the truth that gestures are through acquired learning and the facial expressions are often the instinctive way to recognize from most people from different cultures, which also do an experiment to prove the results.
Generally speaking, our emotional responses are both from learning and biology. Just like when we meet our idol, our brain sends message throughout our body, while release a chemical called adrenaline, which cause the blood carrying to other parts of the body. So someone may be shy and fall down in a faint or screaming loudly.
While not only can we express our emotion, we also control our behavior through ethical and moral constraints. When we get angry, we may zip our lip to say some cruel remarks and shut up the impulse to beat someone. This is also our emotional responses from our learning in our development.
Just like a proverb says: expressing emotions to controlling them is what climbing a mountain to going downhill, climbing is easy but going down is hard. Only after we had learn to control it, did we get really happiness with families and friends.下载本文
