The media is now occupying too much time of our life. Many teenagers are spending so much time in using computers that it seems computers are their whole life. Their life belongs to the media rather than themselves.
The media can hinder people to get in touch with the nature. They understand the outside world by surfing the internet and watching TV. Except of that, more and more people are having cellphones which can obtain information they want. Because of the information technology, less people choose laggard information tools, such as newspapers, books. For them it is easy to understand the world by media. What is more, in such a busy world, most of people cannot pay much attention to what they are doing. The people who lived several scores ago did not have any media as we have today. However, they invented the computers, television, movies and other tools for entertainment for the modern people. There is no doubt that the reason they did that is to make the life of modern people happy. Unfortunately, as an old saying goes to, one coin has two sides, people has been becoming losing themselves from the beginning of the prevailing of those things. For example, when a person gets up in the morning, he may turn on the TV for the news. Then he takes a bus which has a mobile TV to the working place. After he arrived, he turns on the computer to start his work. He may spend a whole day in front of the computer. After a tiring and boring work for the whole day, he gets home and turns on the TV spontaneously or checks some messages on then goes to the bed. See,his time totally belongs to the media not himself. How dreadful! In fact, it occupies the five sense organs and the little time only belongs to us. On the contrary, the media offer so much information that it contains all kinds of things from all over the world. When we turn on the television, there is must some news attracting you, or when we surf on the internet we can also find out something we really want to know. For example, one day I wanted to see the basketball match between China and Korea from the Asian Championship. So I got seated on the chair and searching for the game on Google. Luckily, I find out a video of that game and some comments as well. It took me about 10 minutes. However, what if there is no Google? My grandpa told me once that when he was young, he was always waiting for the sports news on the radio at 6 o’clock. When the news began, he felt really happy. It was the most exciting moment for him. At the same time, the TV came into the world. So from then on, he began to watch the sports news instead of listening to the radio. As the time flies, he has fallen into a habit of waiting for the point-in-time to get the sports news.
The more choices people have, the more perplexed they are. On such a diversified world, it is important to be a person who really he wants to be. So please do not lose yourself in the ocean of information.下载本文
