Only a few students learn English so as to communicate with more people in the future.
Personally, I am firmly convinced that it's the interest in learning that helps us learn efficiently. Only by thinking in this way can we enjoy our learning to the fullest.
... I'm surprised to learn there is a wide gap between rich and poor among you students. It is obviously wrong for that guy to put you to shame rudely.
I assume some students have more money than others, but this should not affect their behavior. There're many ways of being rich if we can enjoy lives and find peace within ourselves.
Being "rich" or "poor" will prove to be temporary especialy in a rapidly changing society. Material wealth vanishes more quickly than it comes.
......
Try to ignore their arrogance. Do better than they can in spite of their money. Maybe you can be richer than they are in grades and behavior. Your faith in yourself and ability will be your riches and your reward will be greater than theirs.
Try it.
......
... Some people think older employees are often extremely faithful and are more willing to fulfill company’s missions than the young. Besides, older employees have rich experience which can be lost if they are made to retire.
However, some people took the strong view that age alone is no guarantee of ability. Many young employees have more creativity than older staff. Delaying retirement discourages new ideas in a business. On the other hand, older people should be rewarded the freedom to enjoy leisure and do whatever they like.
With many young people unemployed, there are often calls to retire older employees. However, this can affect the older individual’s freedom to work. In my opinion, giving employees more choices over their retirement age will benefit society and the individual.
Don’t Be Self-centered in a Class
As is shown in the picture above, a helicopter is going to put the letter “I” into the word “Team”. But if so, the word will no longer exist. This picture conveys the message that if team members are self-centered, the team may break up.
A class is actually a team. All the students in the class share the same goal--- to make the class an excellent team and to help everyone develop fully and healthily. In order to achieve this goal, students should cooperate and support each other even if sometimes someone may have to make sacrifices. Only if they work as one can they achieve success. However, if some students are self-centered and only care about themselves the teamwork will surely be negatively affected or even destroyed. I believe, there is no “I” but “we” in a team.
...
At that time, there being a lot of traffic coming and going on the road, chances were that a careless driver might run into the woman once more. Aware of the danger, Li Na stopped her car, determined to rescue the woman, standing ahead of the wounded woman and directing the vehicles running around her by gesture. All of a sudden, a running car knocked Li Na down, resulting in the fracture of her right leg. When highly praised and appreciated for what she had done, Li Na said," It's worthwhile to save a person's life despite getting my leg broken."
Li Na's deeds have deeply touched me. Heroic acts are traditional virtues of the Chinese people, which should be carried forward. If I meet someone in trouble, I'll give him a hand and at the same time I should try my best to protect myself.
Birthday Celebration
As is shown in the picture, the parents have
prepared a special cake to show their love for their
son on his birthday. Apparently, the son is not
satisfied, complaining: “Who would have his
birthday celebrated at home in this day and age?”,
which really surprises them.
Nowadays, like the boy in the picture, many
teenagers think it becomes a fashion to celebrate
their birthdays in the restaurants, receiving
various gifts from parents and friends. What’s
more, they can have fun by drinking, singing
and dancing.
Personally, I think it can be done in a more
meaningful way. Birthday is much more than an
occasion to receive gifts. It is also a time for us
to express thanks to our parents in return for
their love.
An Impressive English Lessen
Last Friday, we had the honor of inviting Prof. John Smith, a foreign teacher from Z University, to give an English lesson in our class. Now I beg for all your attention to the descriptions of it.
At first, we all thought it pressing to attend the lesson of a professor. However, what surprised us a great deal was that Prof. John Smith was such a humorous and easy-going person that he made the whole lesson easily understood, which enabled the class to be full of passion. As for us students, because of the professor’s enthusiastic performance, we were entirely absorbed in the lesson, listening to the teacher with adequate caution and answering the questions actively. Consequently, it was both the teacher and students that forgot the fleeing time, for we were buried in this joyful atmosphere.
This impressive English lesson has brought me some inspiration. To begin with, it is of great importance to build up a harmonious relationship between teachers and students. Besides, only when teachers host the lesson actively can students acquire knowledge effectively.
Last Friday, we had the honor of inviting Prof John Smith, a foreign teacher from Z University, to give an English lesson in our class. The class was so impressive that we would keep it in our mind forever .It’s because of Prof. John Smith’s efforts that we all had fun and learned a lot in class .He spared no effort to simplify the knowledge, which we used to think difficult, ensuring all of us to understand what he said. He was humorous as well, which fired our interests and determination in learning English well.
We were attracted deeply and all of us performed well in class .Addicted to it, we gave our voice of feelings and thoughts frankly and actively to Prof. John Smith, which enabled us to make greater progress together.
After sharing time with Prof. John Smith, I enjoyed myself and realized that only by joint efforts could we learn more and study happily in class.
Dear Mike,
I am writing to ask you for some advice.
As you know, I am weak in oral English and have always wanted to improve it. Yesterday I saw an ad on TV saying that a crash course for oral English has been started in training center in our city. They promise we will be able to speak standard and fluent American English if we take this one-month course. I really want to have a try but meanwhile I doubt whether it is possible to achieve this goal in such a short time. After all, not all ads tell the truth. Besides, the training fee is not-low either.
I would like to know your opinion. Looking forward to your early reply. / I would appreciate it if you write back to me as soon as possible.
Best wishes.

My Favorite English Teacher
Miss Huang, my English teacher in Grade Two, was strict with us. Whenever we made mistakes in learning English, she was always trying to correct mistakes and criticizing us severely. As a result, I lost interest in English.
Things have changed ever since I entered Grade Three. My present English teacher, Mr. Li, takes a friendly and kind attitude to us. His class is always full of humor and laughter. For example, once I made such a mistake as “You must learn to be a good listener in order to others will believe you and talk to you”. At this, Mr. Li said," You made a good mistake. Thank you. But remember ‘in order to do’”. Gradually, I get to be interested in English. And in the latest English exam, I got the most scores.
So Mr. Li has become my favorite English teacher.
Dear fellow students,
Our school advocates that we should build a low-carbon campus in order to protect the earth.
I think it is everyone’s duty to work hard to achieve this goal. Here is what I think we should do: First of all, we should walk or ride bikes instead of riding in cars or school buses to reduce the amount of pollution. Secondly, when we eat the food in the school cafeteria, we should eat up what we buy and not waste the food. Thirdly, it is of great importance for us to save electricity and water. We should not leave the lights on in the daytime and leave water running after washing. Instead, we should turn off lights as soon as we leave the classroom or dormitories.
In a word, if we can make small changes in our way of life, we can make a big difference to the earth!
Dear fellow students, let’s start right now and spare no effort to do every little thing we can from now on.下载本文
