Whether Students Should Wear School Uniform?

Whether students should wear school uniform? It has become a hot topic among people, especially among the young, and heated debates are right on their way. Some people suggest that students should wear school uniform. In some elementary or secondary schools，students are asked to wear school uniform .There may be by one or two advantages to wear school uniform. For instance, some school authorities said that it is conducive to students’ teamwork and discipline. However, I believe that there are far more disadvantages to wear school uniform. My arguments for this point are listed as follows. 

Nowadays, school uniform has been playing an increasingly important role in our day-to-day life. It has brought us a lot of benefits but created some serious problems as well. The main reason for my propensity is that wearing school uniform will influence the students’ moods. For instance, most of the school uniforms contain a shirt, jumper, pants or shorts and shoes, but most of the students don’t like them. They hate to wear their school uniform, because they hold that the school uniform looks very foolish and mechanical. Fashion seems to be one of the most popular things for teenagers. They love to wear jeans, T-shirts, sunglasses and so on. If they always wear school uniform they wouldn’t be happy, and it influenced a lot. They may think that everything is boring, and they have no interests in studying, learning even playing games. 

Another drawback to wear school uniform involves the possibility that it can not develop their characters well. For example, everyone has different hobbies. Some like show their hobbies through their clothes, or clothes’ color. We can know someone from his or her style of dressing, and make friends with him or her successfully. We can also know about others’ moods from the color of the clothes. If everyone wears school uniform, it is bad for us to know each other well, and we can wear what we like. It is no use for our character cultivation or interpersonal communication.

From the above you might get the idea that I agree that students should not wear school uniform. Even though there may be one or two disadvantages to wear our favorite clothes, the advantages far outweigh them. So, it is sagacious to support the statement that it is better not to be asked to wear school uniform.下载本文
