Preparing the Wall for Installation
墙安装准备
WARNING:
Determine the wall and construction type prior to the installation of this headwall system. Failure to do so could cause injury or equipment damage.

安装端墙控制系统时需确定墙及建筑类型，否则可能造成人员或设备的损伤。
1. Before proceeding, refer to the local or state building codes, and determine the wall type and construction type:
• Seismic walls are constructed to prevent damage from an earthquake.
• Non-seismic walls are not constructed to prevent damage from an earthquake.
• Fire-rated walls are constructed to prevent the spread of fire.
• Non-fire-rated walls are not constructed to prevent the spread of fire.
2. Do one of the following:
• For non-seismic walls, contact Hill-Rom Technical Support at 800-445-3720.
• For seismic walls (both fire-rated and non-fire-rated), install wall backing plates according to the Office of Statewide Health, Planning, and Development (OSHPD)-approved drawings and the as-built drawings.

NOTE:
The backing plate (provided by other) must be 6" (15 cm) wide, 14-gauge steel,
continuous between steel studs at a maximum of 16" (41 cm) centers.
注意：
由其他厂商提供的衬板须为6英寸（15cm）宽的14号钢材，并可以连接最大中心间距为16英寸（41cm）的钢钉。
Installing the Private Unit Hanger Assemblies (P781D01/02)
安装单人病房吊架组件(P781D01/02)
图1. 墙尺寸-吊架
1.Refer to the as-built drawings, and make a vertical plumb line on the wall to show the bed centerline (A) (see figure 1 on page 3).

2.From the finished floor line (B), measure 73 5/8" (187.01 cm) vertically, and make a horizontal plumb line (C) to show the top edges of the hangers (D).

3. From the bed centerline (A), measure 22 5/8" (57.47 cm) horizontally along the
horizontal plumb line (C), and make a mark on the wall to show the inside edge of the
first hanger (D).

4.From the mark on the wall, measure 45 1/4" (114.94 cm) horizontally along the horizontal plumb line (C) and across the bed centerline (A), and make a mark on the wall to show the inside edge of the second hanger (D).

5. On non-fire-rated or non-seismic-rated walls, do the following to install each hanger (D):
a. Align the top and inside edges of the hanger (D) with the horizontal plumb line (C) and the mark on the wall.
b. Hold the hanger (D) in position, and make a mark on the wall to show the
location of the hanger’s pairs of 1" diameter holes (E) (see figure 2 on page 4).
c. Remove the hanger (D) from the wall.
5.在非防火或者非抗震墙作业时，需根据以下说明安装每一个吊架（D）：
（a）链接水平垂线（C）连接吊架顶边及内沿，在墙上作出标记。
（b）将吊架（D）放入指定位置，做出直径为1英寸的孔道（E）标记
（c）从墙上移走吊架（D）。

WARNING:
Wear eye protection. Failure to do so could cause eye injury.

d. Put on safety glasses.
e. At the marks for the pairs of the 1" diameter holes (E), drill a 1" hole for the
hanger (D) at a hole that is free from obstruction.
f. Clean up any debris from drilling.
g. Assemble the toggle bolts (F), stud guides (G), and toggle wings (H).
h. Hold the hanger (D) in position.
i. Install the toggle bolts (F), stud guides (G), and toggle wings (H) at the holes
drilled in the wall. Make sure the toggle wings (H) fully open inside the wall.
j. Tighten the toggle bolts (F) to secure the hanger (D) to the wall
d. 戴上安全眼镜。
e．在标记有1英寸孔道位置，为吊架钻一个1英寸孔道。
f．清理钻孔引起的残余物。
g．准备套挂螺栓（F）， 壁骨（G），兰花夹（H）

6. On fire-rated or seismic-rated walls, do the following:
a. Align the top and inside edges of the hanger (D) with the horizontal plumb line
(C) and the mark on the wall (see figure 1 on page 3).
b. Refer to the as-built drawings, and install the #12 self-drilling screws (I) to
secure the hanger (D) to the backing plate (J) (see figure 2 on page 4).
6.在有防火墙或抗震墙上作业时，需按照以下要求安装：
a. 根据水平垂线（C）连接吊架（D）顶边及内沿，并在墙上作出标记。（见3页图1）
b．参照建筑图纸，将#12自钻螺钉（I）安装到墙衬板内(J)，固定吊架（见4页图2）
Installing the First Impression® Headwall System (P780D)
安装First Impression®端墙控制系统
1. At each wall box (K), install two flat head screws (L) to secure the face ring (M) to the wall box (K) (see figure 3 on page 5).
在每一个暗线箱内(K)，安装两个平头螺钉（L），将面板（M）固定于暗线箱(K)内（见5页图3）

CAUTION:
Use caution when removing the corrugated packing materials from the
headwall. Failure to do so could cause equipment damage.

2. With the headwall (N) sitting on the bottom of the carton, carefully remove the
corrugated packing materials (see figure 4 on page 6). Do not remove the wooden
packing brace from the headwall (N).

3. Find the knockouts in the back of the center raceway (O) that align with the three wall boxes (K) (see figure 3 on page 5). Then remove the three knockouts from the center raceway (O).

4. Install the 2" grommet edging (P) and 3" grommet edging (Q) around the three
knockout locations.

5. Using the wooden packing brace, lift the headwall (N) onto the hangers (D). Be sure to engage the formed hook at the top rear of the headwall (N) with the top edge of the hangers (D) (see figure 1 on page 3).

6. Examine the headwall (N), and make sure it completely engages the hangers (D).

7. Make sure the headwall (N) is in the correct position on the wall (see figure 5 on page 7).

8. Remove the wooden packing brace and four studs from the headwall (N).

9. Install the plastic plug buttons in the holes on the headwall (N).

10. Remove the center high pressure laminate (HPL) panel (R) from the headwall (N) (see figure 4 on page 6):
a. Insert a screwdriver into the hole at the bottom of the center HPL panel (R), and
release the retaining latch.
b. Turn the center HPL panel (R) up to approximately 60°.
c. Disengage the hinges on the center HPL panel (R).
d. Lift the center HPL panel (R) from the headwall (N).
e. Store the center HPL panel (R) in a safe location.
10. 从端墙上卸掉高密度压缩板（R）中间部分（见第6页图4）
a. 将螺丝刀伸入高密度压缩板（R）中间部分底端的孔道内，拧开固定栓。
b. 将高密度压缩板(R)旋转大约60°。

11. If necessary, remove the tambour door (S) from the headwall (N):
a. Slide the tambour door (S) out of the headwall (N).
b. Lift the tambour door (S) from its bottom track (T).
c. Turn the tambour door (S) forward, and remove it from the headwall (N).

12. Remove the center raceway cover (U) from the headwall (N) to expose the electrical hookup area:
a. Remove the three screws (V) that secure the center raceway cover (U) to the
headwall (N).
b. Remove the center raceway cover (U) from the headwall (N).

13. Refer to the as-built drawings, and at the wall studs (X) farthest from the bed
centerline (A) behind each end of the center raceway (O), do the following (see figure
5 on page 7):

Wear eye protection. Failure to do so could cause eye injury.

a. Put on safety glasses.
b. At the lowest and highest section at each end of the center raceway (O), drill a
0.221" hole through the back of the headwall (N).
c. Clean up any debris from drilling.
d. At the four holes drilled in the center raceway (O), install a #12 self-drilling
screw (W) to secure the headwall (N) to the wall studs (X).

14. At each wall box (K), install two #8 self-drilling screws (Y) through the back of the center raceway (O) to secure it to the flange of the face ring (M) (see figure 3 on page 5)

CAUTION:
Protect the adjacent electrical raceways from excessive heat from the brazing
torch, and prevent heat conduction to the interior of the headwall. Failure to do
so could cause equipment damage

避免附近电缆管道由于焊接而过热，避免热传导至端墙内部，否则可能导致设备损害。
15. Using the heat shield blanket, protect the adjacent electrical raceways from excessive heat from the brazing torch.

16. To prevent heat conduction to the interior of the headwall (N), wrap a wet sponge or cloth around copper tubing beyond the joint (see figure 4 on page 6).

17. Have the installing contractor make the medical gas hookup to the building service drops in accordance with all applicable state and local codes, and the following:
• USA—National Fire Protection Association®1 (NFPA)—NFPA 99: Standard
for Health Care Facilities
• Canada—Canadian Standards Association (CSA®2)—Nonflammable Medical
Gas Pipeline Systems will follow: CSA Z305.1: Non-Flammable Medical
Gas Piping Systems, CSA Z318.0: Commissioning of Health Care Facilities
17. 安装承包商应当确保医用气体与建筑设施连接时，符合以下所有州及地方的适用规范：
美国-美国国家防火协会(NFPA)- NFPA 99: 卫生保健设施标准

18. Have the installing contractor do the following:
a. Refer to the as-built drawings for the internal wiring configuration and hookup
information.
b. Make the connections to the electrical and communication services in
accordance with all applicable state, and local electrical codes, and the
following:
•US—NFPA 70: National Electrical Code® (NEC®)
• Canada—CSA C22.1: Canadian Electrical Code—Safety Standard for Electrical
Installations, CSA Z318.0: Commissioning of Health Care Facilities
c. Using the pull cords provided, pull in the telephone and nurse call wiring.
d. Make all field terminations within the headwall (N). For a power distribution by
raceway, refer to table 1 on page 10.
18. 安装承包商需按下列说明操作：

20. Install the three screws (V) to secure the center raceway cover (U) to the headwall (N).

21. Install the center HPL panel (R) and, if necessary, the tambour door(s) (S) on the
headwall (N).
