One of the most important problems college students in Grade 4 face is deciding what to do after graduation. It was indeed an annoying problem when it came to me. After turning over for a long time, I decided to go for further education. There are three main reasons why I chose to undertake postgraduate study in my field at UCAS.

Firstly, I have to say that getting a higher degree is the only way for rural children out of poverty. There is a concept in Chinese people's mind that the higher education you get, the  better life you will have in the future. From the view of mine, I think if I obtained a master's degree, I would be more competitive when applying a relative better job and get a better starting for my future career.

Secondly, I chose UCAS as the institution where I undertake my postgraduate study for the reason that it is a leading academic institution and comprehensive research and development center in natural science, technological science and high-tech innovation in China. It is such an excellent place to do research work that my researching and working ability will be both improved greatly. I think I will get a better scientific achievement at UCAS than one achieved in a general school.

Last but not least, I am in favor of my major as well as the lovely ocean. However the ocean is getting worse because of human beings' unreasonable utilization and serious pollution. I want to try my best to provide some help on improving the situation.  While I believe that the knowledge I have learned in my undergraduate school is too little to work well in my field. For this reason, I made my choice to get further education in the field of marine chemistry. I hope to constantly expand my knowledge of ocean and develop more practical skills about marine exploration and utilization without damaging the marine environment. I am confidence in that it will pay for my effort.下载本文
