1.population n.意为“人口数量”,谓语动词通常用单数形式。 询问人口数量时要用“What’s the population of...?”提问,而不用how many或how much等提问。表示人口“多”要用large或big;表示人口“少”要用small。 

例如:The population of this city is six million.这个城市的人口是600万。           学优高考                              

2.It is...meters high (long,wide...).它……米高(长,宽……)。 英语表示“有多长(宽,高……)”时,一般将数词和数量单位放在表示长宽高的形容词前。

例如: The Green Great Wall is 7,000 kilometers long.这座绿色长城长7 000千米。

3.much longer意为“长得多”。在形容比较级前还可以用even,a little,still,a lot等修饰词表示程度。

例如:He runs even faster than I.

他比我跑得更快。

4.as far as I know意为“就我所知”,其他常用口语表达有as /so far as I can remember/I can tell/I can see等。 

例如:She lived in Chicago,as far as I can remember.根据我记得的,她过去住在芝加哥。
