Is elite education necessary in China?

  Coincident with the advancement of science and technology, it is universally acknowledged that education plays a crucial role in the contemporary society. So I hold the firm belief that elite education is necessary in China. The main reasons are listed as follows:

  In the first place, it is obvious that going to university is a significant way to enrich knowledge, broaden horizon, tap potential and accumulate experience. It goes without saying that universities foster the majority of expert professionals. In the meantime, elite education promotes the advancement of science and technology, also it stimulates the advance of economy and improvement of living standard in China.

  In the second place, there is a common view that nothing is more important than receiving education especially higher education in China. The number of college students has been dramatically increased since the beginning of expanding enrollment in 1999. Most parents try their best to provide good conditions for their children to go to college. All walks of individuals realize the importance of knowledge, and they take pride in their children who are going to famous universities and receiving elite education.

  Last but not least, elite education is an important symbol that China keeps pace with the world. As Chinese reformation and opening-up develop continually, Chinese universities gradually keep up with world. Therefore, Chinese government should provide support for elite education.

  To sum up, elite education plays a critical role in the modern society and it’s fundamental in China. It is necessary that authorities take effective measures to guarantee the development of elite education.下载本文
