| While-task Activities Step 1 Show a picture of a zoo. Stick the flashcards :giraffe, snake, elephant and zebra on it. Teach the new words and ask the students to repeat. T: Look! This is a zoo. It’s big. There are many animals in it. What’s this? It’s a giraffe. S: Giraffe. Step 2 Prepare a card with a smiling face on one side and a crying face on the other side. T: (Show the card “lion”) Do you like lions? S1: (Show the smiling face) Yes, I do. Step 3 Learn “No, I don’t.” S: Do you like lions? T: No, I don’t. Ts, sT Step 4 Point to the animals in the zoo. Step 2 Ask them to bring some toy animals to class and make a short dialogue in pairs. T: ( Show two toy bears.) Do you like bears? S: Yes, I do. (Show two toy tigers.) Do you like tigers? | While-task Activities Step 1 Show a picture of a toyshop. And talk about the toys. T: This is a toyshop. There are many toys in the shop. What are they? (Show toy bears) S1 :They are bears. T: Do you like it? S1: Yes, I do. T: What is it? (Show a toy pig.) S1: It’s a pig. T: Look at the pig. It’s lovely. Touch it. It’s soft. Practice ”lovely”. Step 2 Have the students look at the picture for “Say and act” on Page 23.of the student’s book. Then play the recording for it.. Ask the students which one Tom likes. Then have the students role-play the dialogue in groups to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Step 5 Have the students look at the picture for “play a game”on page 24 of the Student’s Book. Show the pictures of animals to the students and talk about the animals. Ts: What are they?/Are they big?/ What colour are they?/ What have they? /What do they like? T: Look! They are lions. They are big. They are brown. They have long tails. They like meat. Have students choose one animal to describe as the teacher did. Step 6 Ask the students to play the game in pairs.
