一 Warm-up
Greetings: Good morning. Sit down please.
二 Review:
Teacher shows students some books. T: I have five books. How many books do you have? (Ss answer: two/five/three)
T: Show me your pencil. Show me your ruler. Show me your eraser. How many pencils/pens do you have? (Ss show them and answer)
Teacher ask several other questions, letting Ss answer “How many?”
三 Presentation:
1. T: How many rooms do you have? I have five rooms.
Teacher teaches the word “room”, write it on the blackboard.
2. T: This is my home.
Teacher draws the picture of home with five rooms on the blackboard.
T: Look. This is my home. My study. My bathroom. My bedroom. My living room. And my kitchen.
3. Read after the teacher all the new words. Pay attention to the pronounciation of “bathroom”, “bedroom”
4. Ss read together these words, trying to remember them and the according rooms.
5. Teacher show pictures of different rooms.Then stick them on the blackboard. When showing the picture, teacher do an action to present what one does in the room. Ss speak out the rooms. Eg. Teacher shows a picture of a study and acts as if he/she is reading. Ss quickly say the word “study”
6. Play a game: teacher say “go to …”, Ss do it.
Teacher first teaches them the sentence “Go to …”, making sure all Ss understand the order:”Go to the living room/kitchen…”
7. Teacher write the sentence on the blackboard “go to …”
T: Read after me : go to the living room/bedroom…
8. Teacher do the action, Ss say the sentences quickly. Then teacher tells the activities: watch TV/ read a book/ take a shower…
9. Show the phrase cards. Ss read after the teacher and do it.
10. Guess: teacher make an action, Ss guess which room he/she should go to. Tell others what’s the action. Eg: Go to the bedroom. Have a sleep.
11. Ask Ss to come to the front and do actions. Others guess: go to the kitchen, have a snack. …
12. Half Ss look at the word cards and do it, the other half say.
四 Consolidation
13. Open your books. Read together: study, living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom.
14. Listen to the tape. Read the phrases in “Let’s do”
15. Let’s do it together while read it the second time.
16. Teacher make an example to introduce his/her home: This is my home. You can see one living room. One study. One bedroom. One kitchen. Welcome to my home.
Ask students to come to the front and introduce their home.
